Author Guidelines

1. General Author Guidelines

  1. J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) receives the manuscript covering the original research (preferable), research notes, and book reviews.
  2. The article can be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English.
  3. The manuscript should be written by using Microsoft Word, single spacing, one coloumn format, font type Times New Roman 11 pts, A4 paper size (210 x 297 mm). The format used margin on all sides are 3 cm by the header and footer limit is 15 mm. 
  4. The manuscript must contain: 1) Title both in Indonesian and English; 2) Author(s) full name and affiliation; 3) Abstract and keywords both in Indonesia and English; 4) Introduction (should include the literature review); 5) Methods; 6) Conclusion (and Recommendation, if any); 8) Acknowledgement (if any); and 9) References.
  5. The foreign terms should be written in Italic.

3. Manuscript Submission Guidelines  

All manuscripts should be prepared according to the template and please submit by Online Submission:

Before submitting, the author must be registered as the Author by completing the data through http://journal.umgo.ac.id/index.php/GEOUMGo/login. The author also offered as the Reviewer online. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. Title :
    Written entirely in bold capital letters. Times New Roman letters, 14 pt size, center alignment, maximal 15 words.
  2. Abstract (English) :
    Written in english accompanied by keywords written under abstract in italic format, 150 - 250 words.
  3. Keyword(s):
    should be provided below the abstract to help with the electronic search (3-5 words).
  4. Introduction :
    this part gives background information to put your work into context,  state of the art, what is rationale/reason for your study, and research objective.

  5. Methods :
    explains how the research is conducted, research design, data collecting technique(s), instrument development, and data analysis technique(s).
  6. Results and Discussion :
    contains findings based on the analysis and elaboration of the data, what the findings mean, discuss the result with the previous publications or works. Discussion part should cite other works, not just describe the results/findings.
  7. Conclusions :
    Conclusions are the essence of all the discussions that must be linked to the research objectives. Each research objective must be answered by a conclusion. Writing conclusions must be written using solid paragraphs, not points per point.
  8. Acknowledgment :
    Acknowledgments should be limited to collegial and financial assistance. Acknowledgments are not meant to recognize personal or manuscript production support.
  9. References: 
    Writing Bibliography follow APA Style (7th version). All the references that used in the article must be listed in this part and, and is written consistently. In this part, all the used references must be taken from primary sources/scientific journals (at least 80% as of all the references) that published in the last ten years. Each article should have at least 20 references.
    All the served data or quotes in the article taken from the other author articles should attach the reference sources. The references should use a reference application management such as Mendeley, End Note, or Zotero.
