Abstract

The Gorontalo Class IIA Prison inmates need skills to prepare for life after serving their imprisonment. The negative societal stigma makes it difficult for former inmates to get advisable work. This training aims to provide skills by making aquariums, arranging the aquascapes, and ornamental fish culture that are easy to develop but have high economic value. All respondents are in the productive phase, which means that after receiving training in skills for ornamental fish culture and arranging aquascapes, the inmates who leave prison can later create their jobs, thereby reducing the risk of committing criminal acts again. After this skill development, the prison inmates gained a significant increase in knowledge, which is reflected in the increase in the average post-test score of the inmates compared to the pre-test score. Based on the paired t-test results, the t-count > t-table value is obtained, so H0 is rejected, which means that the analyzed data (sample data) supports the existence of differences. An event between the two groups being compared.
