Abstract

The livestock sector is one of the priority sectors as the foundation of the domestic economy. Livestock products that continue to experience increased demand are meat. JOPER chickens are a superior breed that can produce high meat productivity. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The results of the study showed the average individual weight in the different probiotic treatment categories during the third and fifth weeks, along with the average weight gain and standard deviation. The results of the study showed that chickens receiving probiotics had higher body weights compared to the control group that did not receive probiotic treatment. Although there was an increase in weight gain, there was no significant difference between the treatment and control groups. This indicates that probiotics improve feed efficiency without affecting the amount of feed consumed.
