Abstract

Penelitian ini memetakan fungsi retoris waṣl pada tiga surah Juz 28—Al-Mujādilah, Al-Taghābun, dan Al-Ṭalāq—dalam kerangka ʿilm al-maʿānī. Tujuannya adalah mengidentifikasi ayat yang memuat waṣl melalui wāw al-ʿāṭifah dan menjelaskan tujuan retoris dominan yang lahir dari hubungan antarklausa. Penelitian menggunakan desain deskriptif kualitatif melalui analisis dokumen, pembacaan dekat, interpretasi kontekstual, dan penghitungan deskriptif. Data memuat 48 ayat: 19 pada Al-Mujādilah, 18 pada Al-Taghābun, dan 11 pada Al-Ṭalāq. Pengodean sumber mencatat tiga fungsi utama, yaitu mencegah ambiguitas sebanyak 28 kasus, pembedaan penghormatan 22 kasus, dan penegasan keluasan pengetahuan ilahi 33 kasus. Total kategori menghasilkan 83 penetapan fungsi, sedangkan penjumlahan baris per surah menghasilkan 82; ketidaksesuaian ini dipertahankan sebagai keterbatasan kualitas data. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa waṣl melampaui fungsi koordinasi gramatikal karena memperkuat kohesi semantik, menghubungkan proposisi hukum dan etika, serta menonjolkan relasi teologis. Dengan demikian, nilai retoris wāw ditentukan oleh konteks hubungan antarsatuan tuturan.
