J SIG (Journal of Science Information of Geography) is open for articles/papers:

1. Geography

2. Remote Sensing

3. Environment & Climate Change

4. Earth Science (geology, geophysics, hydrology, weather, and climate)

5. Disaster

6. New and renewable energy

7. GeoAI

8. Geocomputation

9. Cartography

10. and not limited to other geology that still uses a Geographic Information System (GIS) methodology, Remote Sensing or relevant method.

This journal is published 2 (two) times a year, in May and November (2 Numbers in 1 Volume). Publications in this journal use Indonesian even though they are also allowed to use English.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted in J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) will be peer-reviewed by a double blind reviewer. The manuscript will be made anonym both for the reviewer and the authors.

The final decision is determined by the agreement between the editorial board and the reviewer. Plagiarism is strictly prohibited in J SIG. Plagiarism screening in this journal is completed through Turnitin and Google search

There are no communications between authors and reviewers during the reviewing process. Also, there are no communications between authors and editors regarding the rejection decision.

 

Publication Ethics

J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi), with registered number ISSN 2614-1671 (Online) is a peer-reviewed journal, available online and published two times a year. This statement clarifies ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the chief editor, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer­­­­­ and the publisher (Geography Study Program, Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo, Indonesia. This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)’s.

 

EDITOR ETHICS

1. The entry script shall be the responsibility of the Editor to review thoroughly, transparently, objectively and fairly. The editor also has the authority to decide whether or not a text is to be published, subject to the board meeting. The editorial board's policies and various applicable laws on copyright, good name and plagiarism are absolute and inviolable.

2. The Editor is responsible for providing information regarding the terms and guidelines for writing clearly and easily accessible to potential authors.

3. The editor must also ensure that all manuscripts reviewed can be reviewed by the reviewer and all the requirements are read clearly.

4. The editor must be objective, impartial, and honest in editing the manuscript, regardless of gender, business side, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group, and author's citizenship.

5. The editor and editorial team are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the author and are prohibited from disclosing any information about the submitted manuscript or articles except with the author's permission.

6. The entry text shall be the responsibility of the editor and editorial team and shall not be misused, either wholly or partly for personal gain. Unpublished manuscripts will be returned to the author.

 

REVIEWER ETHICS

1. The reviewer is responsible for the review made by giving various considerations and recommendations that are clear, measurable and comprehensive. The reviewer must respond to the manuscript within a specified time (4 weeks).

2. Reviewers must be honest, objective, unbiased, independent, and only in favor of scientific truth. The process of reviewing the manuscript is done professionally regardless of sex, the business side, ethnicity, religion, race, inter-group, and author's citizenship

3. Reviewers shall ensure that reference sources and script quotations are appropriate and accountable.

4. Reviewers are required to always maintain the confidentiality of script-related information and authors for personal gain.

 

AUTHOR ETHICS

1. The author is responsible for the manuscript sent to the J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) and declares that the manuscript sent is the correct manuscript as the result of his own research or his thought, original as his own work and does not manipulate data, honestly and freely plagiarism.

2. the author should inform that the manuscript submitted/submitted to the editor is a script that has never been submitted/submitted to the publisher of another journal/publication. If there is any redundancy in the submission of a manuscript to another publisher, then the editor will reject the submitted manuscript.

3. The author shall indicate quotations and references obtained from the work of others and may not alter or alter the source.

4. The author will not object if the script is edited without changing the substance or main idea of writing.

5. the author must understand the ethics of scientific publications above to avoid any conflict of interest with other parties, so the script can be processed smoothly and safely.

 

ETHICS MANAGER / PUBLISHER JOURNAL

1. Journal manager responsible for publishing articles after going through the process of editing, peer review, layout in accordance with the rules of publishing Scientific Journal.

2. Journal managers are responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and reviewers in performing their duties.

3. Journalists are responsible for maintaining the privacy and protecting intellectual   property and copyright, and editorial freedom

 

Open Access Policy

J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) provides immediate open access to its content by making research freely available for public and supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles.

 

Archiving

J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More... 


Author(s) are permitted to self-archive a pre-print and an author’s accepted manuscript version of their Article.

A preprint is the author’s version of the Article before peer-review has taken place ("Pre-Print”). Prior to acceptance for publication, Author(s) retain the right to make a Pre-Print of their Article available on any of the following: their own personal, self- maintained website; a legally compliant pre-print server such as but not limited to arXiv, bioRxiv, inarxiv, and rinarxiv. Once the article has been published, the Author(s) should update the acknowledgment and provide a link to the definitive version on the publisher’s website: “This is a pre-print of an article published in [insert journal title]. The final authenticated version is available online at https://doi.org/[insert DOI]”.

An acknowledgment in the following form should be included, together with a link to the published version on the publisher’s website: “This is a post-peer-review, pre-copyedit version of an article published in [insert journal title]. The final authenticated version is available online at http://dx.doi.org/[insert DOI]”.

1. The copyright of the accpted for publication articles shall be assigned to J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) as the publisher of the journal. The intended copyright includes the rights to publish articles in various forms (including reprints).

2. J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) maintain the publishing rights of the published articles.

Authors are permitted to republish or disseminate published articles by sharing the link/DOI of the article at the J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi). Plagiarism Screening

It is the policy of this journal to use automated software, like TURNITIN to check for plagiarism in all submitted manuscripts. The results of this automated detection are forwarded to the Section Editor and will serve as the preliminary check for plagiarism. Plagiarism may also be identified during the review process by the technical reviewers assigned to the manuscript. J SIG (Jurnal Sains Informasi Geografi) will use Turnitin's originality checking software as the tool in detecting similarities of texts in article manuscripts and the final version of articles ready for publication. A maximum of 20 % of similarities is allowed for the submitted papers. Should we find more than 20 % of the similarity index, the article will be returned to the author for correction and resubmission. Final plagiarism will be done after the author finalizes their reviewed manuscript.

When plagiarism is identified, the Section Editor responsible for the review of the manuscript and the Editor-in-Chief will agree on measures according to the extent of plagiarism detected in the manuscript in agreement with the following guidelines. The Editor-in-Chief shall have the authority to deviate from these guidelines on a case by case basis.

 

Editorial Process

 

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (IDR)

Authors are not required to pay an article submission fee as part of the submission process to contribute to review costs.

Article Publication: 350.000 (IDR)
If this paper is accepted for publication, authors will be asked to pay an article publication fee to cover publication costs.

The penalty fee will be charged 1.000.000 (IDR) to authors who decide to retract, correct, or withdraw after publication. This is because the authors do not respect the whole process that has been done.

1. We really appreciate for collaboration papers, and are not appreciate papers with a single (sole) author. Paper with a single author is charged twice of the above fee (700.000 IDR).

2. This fee includes: DOI registration for each paper; Checking the article similarity by turnitin; and Final editing paper.
