Abstract

This study discusses how the Pagang Practice of Pawning Agricultural Land in Nagari Kurai Taji, Nan Sabari District, Padang Pariaman Regency and how to resolve agricultural land pawn disputes in Nagari Kurai Taji, Padang Pariaman Regency. data is done through observation, interviews and literature study. Data collection tools used document studies, and conducted interviews using interview guidelines for relevant informants. Data analysis was carried out by qualitative analysis. The results of this study, it was found that the Pagang Pagang Practice in Nagari Kurai Taji can be carried out after the pawnbroker or pawnbroker who wants to pagang his inheritance land first has fulfilled one of the customary requirements. In determining the person or party as a pamagang (pawnee) set the rules according to the rules of "heritage of mutual tribes" by looking for the closest family who can afford it. If there is a dispute, all of them are resolved first amicably by means of deliberation and consensus between the parties who carry out pagang pawns then if they cannot reach an amicable decision then further by way of deliberation and consensus through the Nagari Customary Association (KAN), if not also a peace agreement between the parties. the disputing party, then the dispute is carried out by bringing the case to the District Court.
