KOMUNIKASI EFEKTIF ORANG TUA KEPADA ANAK USIA DINI DAN DAMPAKNYA TERHADAP PERKEMBANGAN SOSIAL-EMOSIONAL ANAK PAUD DI KOTA GORONTALO

Abstract


This study aims to determine the influence of effective parental communication on the socio-emotional development of early childhood. Warm, responsive, and open communication is believed to strengthen emotional closeness between parents and children and develop positive social skills from an early age. This study used a quantitative correlational approach with a sample of 100 parents of children aged 4–6 years in Gorontalo City. Data collection used a Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of the Pearson correlation analysis showed a positive and significant relationship between effective parental communication and children's socio-emotional development (r = 0.712, p < 0.05). This finding confirms that effective communication is a crucial aspect of early childhood care.
