Restoring The Function Of Lake Limboto Through Physical Surface Engineering Of The Surrounding Land
Abstract
Lake Limboto is a symbol of Gorontalo and even the world if it is remanaged by paying attention to the needs of global citizens. In the last 35 years, there has been a shrinkage of 275.57 ha from the lake water area which reached 7000 ha in 1932 and continues to shrink to 1,900 to 3,000 ha in 1999. The decrease in the area of lake waters is accompanied by the expansion of the surrounding land. Assuming that if better intervention is not carried out, it is predicted that Lake Limboto will be more critical in the future. Land physics surface engineering is an effort to physically design the soil surface so that it is stable and not affected by the tides of lake water. The impact is; (1) the lake environment that processes naturally, (2) the lack of conflicts of interest from various parties, (3) the increase in employment, (4) alleviating community poverty. This article contributed to; (1) sustainable natural resource management, (2) sustainable agriculture and food security, (3) green urban development, (5) green industry, (6) environmentally friendly technological innovation, (7) climate change control and adaptation, (8) community empowerment, (8) ecotourism based on conservation areas, and (9) renewable energy.
